A timeless story of love and adventure, this Chinese fable follows the legendary snake spirits Lady Bai and her companion, Greenie, as they travel to the human world to take a glimpse of the unknown. Lady Bai falls in love with a lowly pharmacist's assistant, Xu Xian, but her newfound happiness is threatened when an evil Buddhist monk attempts to expose her serpentine origins. Told through different perspectives and filled with puppetry, song, and imagery, The White Snake is a tale about finding one's place in the world -- and being loved for who we truly are.
