Big, bold, and brave!
2022-23 was the biggest year so far for me in my career. In summary:
February/March 2022 - Co-Directed Mamelles de Tiresias and Hin und Zuruck with Alison Moritz; making my opera debut with Peabody Opera Theatre at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Nick Hersch of the Baltimore Symph conducted, he was an amazing collaborator!
March/April 2022 - adapted and directed Song of Achilles at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. Dream project in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley with the best acting students ever!
May/June 2022 - Revived Ella Marchment's production of L'inganno Felice for the Opera Festival of Chicago. Great to be back in the Windy City!
November/December 2022 - Directed Pericles for the Academy at Shakespeare Theatre Company. The MFA class was stellar, and we performed it in rep with All's Well That Ends Well.
January 2023 - Directed a podcast/audio version of American Spies by Sam Hamashima for The Parsnip Ship in Brooklyn, NY.
February-April 2023 - Directing Julia Izumi's fabulous Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea for Rorschach Theatre. This one's a rollercoaster, ya'll.
Summer 2023 - producing an array of staged readings, including my own play, in a partnership with Temperance Alley and 4615 Theatre. I'll also be the associate director on a new musical at the Kennedy Center (which will take me through the fall).
Very grateful for this extraordinary period of beautiful stories, amazing collaborators, diverse experiences, and supportive producers. Here's to the next year, and thanks for coming along this journey!
